Job Summary

A waiter is responsible for providing excellent customer service in a restaurant or hotel. They ensure guests have a pleasant dining experience by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and handling customer needs efficiently.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome customers in a friendly manner

  • Present menus and explain items if needed
  • Take accurate food and drink orders
  • Serve food and beverages on time
  • Check on customers to ensure satisfaction
  • Handle customer complaints politely and professionally
  • Prepare and clean tables before and after service
  • Process bills and handle payments
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards

Required Skills

  • Minimum education: Matric or equivalent
  • Previous experience in restaurant/hotel preferred (but not always required)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
