Job Summary

A Dress Making Trainer is responsible for teaching learners the skills required to design, cut, stitch, and finish garments professionally. The trainer provides hands-on training in traditional and modern dress-making techniques, guiding students through fabric selection, measurement, pattern-making, and tailoring to help them become self-reliant or start their own businesses in the fashion industry.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver training modules on tailoring, dressmaking, cutting, stitching, embroidery, and garment finishing.
  • Conduct hands-on practical sessions and demonstrations for trainees.
  • Prepare lesson plans, training materials, and assessments in line with curriculum standards.
  • Train students in pattern making, fabric selection, garment construction, and fitting techniques.
  • Evaluate trainee performance through assignments, projects, and practical tests.
  • Ensure safe and efficient use of sewing machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Stay updated with modern tailoring techniques, fashion trends, and fabrics to integrate into training.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and feedback to support trainees’ learning and professional growth.
  • Maintain training equipment and ensure a clean, safe, and organized training environment.
