Trainee Mammography @ The Aga Khan University Hospital

Job Summary

You will be responsible to:

• Attend didactic sessions as per schedule 
• Organize Mammography equipment at proper distance and angle from patients’ body to demonstrate clear and undisturbed image, under supervision
• Guide patients regarding the requirements of the procedure and assessing their level of comfort
• Properly log procedures performed
• Ascertain safe handling of Mammography System
• Ensure equipment maintenance by cleaning and making minor adjustments to the same, if required, under Supervision
• Assist radiologist during stereotactic biopsy procedures & safe handling and prompt imaging of localized specimen coming from or when required
• Select proper anode/filter combination and exposure factors specific to the patient and examination using appropriate markers to document breast(s) imaged and projections under supervision
• Assist in image processing, arching and retrieving data at the system and PACS
• Incorporate current knowledge of radiation safety consideration when working in Mammography
• Perform any other task assigned by the Supervisor.

Required Skills

You should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
• A diploma in Radiologic technology course from a recognized institute
• Good communication skills in English and Urdu (both written and verbal)
• Proficiency in use of computers and basic applications
• Flexibility in working shift duties, if required.
