Job Summary

To ensure efficient management, accurate recording, and timely issuance of all raw materials required for bakery production. The Store Keeper is responsible for maintaining the quality, quantity, and proper storage of raw materials, ensuring smooth production operations and compliance with company standards.

Role and Responsibilities:

Inventory Management

  • Receive, verify, and record all incoming raw materials (flour, sugar, oil, yeast, etc.) against purchase orders and delivery challans.

  • Ensure accurate stock entries in the inventory Excel sheet/software and manual registers.

  • Maintain optimum stock levels to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.

  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and reconcile with system records.

  • Monitor the expiry dates and FIFO (First-In-First-Out) system to minimize waste.

Storage & Handling

  • Ensure proper stacking, labeling, and identification of all raw materials in designated areas.

  • Maintain hygienic and organized storage conditions as per food safety standards (e.g., temperature, humidity).

  • Handle perishable and non-perishable materials carefully to prevent damage or contamination.

  • Ensure segregation of allergens and other sensitive materials as per quality and safety protocols.

Issuance & Documentation

  • Issue raw materials to the production team based on approved material requisition slips.

  • Record all material issuances promptly in the stock register/system.

  • Maintain proper documentation for traceability of all materials used in production.

  • Coordinate with production and procurement teams for material replenishment requirements.

Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with the Procurement Department regarding incoming supplies, shortages, or quality issues.

  • Coordinate with the Quality Control Department for inspection and approval of received materials.

  • Communicate effectively with production staff to ensure smooth flow of materials.

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow all company policies related to food safety, hygiene, and occupational safety.

  • Ensure the store area is pest-free, clean, and organized at all times.

  • Report any quality discrepancies, damaged goods, or safety hazards immediately to the supervisor.

  • Participate in internal and external audits and provide relevant documentation as required.

Required Skills

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Metric/Intermediate or Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Experience: 1–2 years of experience as a Store Keeper or Store Assistant .

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and recordkeeping.

  • Basic computer skills (MS Excel, ERP software).

 Competencies:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Good organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production timelines.

  • Honest, reliable, and disciplined approach to work.

  • Team player with effective communication skills.
