Roles and Responsibilities:
Installing Solar Energy Systems: Mounting and installing solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other associated systems as per the design specifications.
System Maintenance and Repair: Regularly maintaining and troubleshooting solar systems to ensure optimal performance, including cleaning panels, replacing faulty parts, and upgrading systems as needed.
Conducting Site Assessments: Visiting customer locations to assess the suitability of solar installations, considering factors like sunlight exposure, roof structure, and potential obstructions.
Testing and Monitoring Systems: Performing electrical tests on solar systems to ensure correct installation, connectivity, and functionality, using specialized diagnostic tools.
Ensuring Compliance with Regulations: Ensuring that solar installations comply with safety standards, electrical codes, and local building regulations.
Documentation: Documenting installation procedures, testing results, and maintenance records, as well as creating reports for customers and management.
Providing Customer Support: Offering guidance to customers on solar system operation, energy savings, and troubleshooting minor issues.
Collaborating with Teams: Working closely with other technicians, contractors, and project managers to complete solar installation projects efficiently and safely.
Upgrading Systems: Advising clients on potential upgrades to enhance system efficiency, such as battery storage solutions and more advanced inverters.
Educating Clients: Providing customers with training and information about their solar system, including monitoring performance and energy savings.
Skills and Qualifications:
Matric Degree.
Training or certification in solar installation (e.g., NABCEP preferred).
Basic understanding of electrical systems and construction practices.
Physical fitness to climb ladders, lift heavy panels, and work outdoors.
Strong problem-solving and technical skills.
Attention to detail and safety.
