Job Summary

The Site Engineer will support the Resident Engineer in managing and supervising construction activities onsite, ensuring execution of rehabilitation works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with contractors and all stakeholders on the site.
  • Provide regular updates and site reports (Daily, weekly and Monthly) to the Resident Engineer.
  • Manage construction activities from start to finish under the guidance of the Resident Engineer.
  • Lead and supervise the on-site technical team and manage materials, site resources, and logistics.
  • Monitor daily progress against the schedule.
  • Ensure adherence to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Enforce quality control procedures and ensure implementation of health and safety standards on-site.
  • Address technical issues promptly and escalate major concerns to the Resident Engineer.
  • Assist in material inspections and shop drawing verification.
  • Support documentation of site meetings and inspections.

Required Skills

Skills and Qualification:

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a minimum of 5 years of construction experience OR
  • Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE – Civil) with a minimum of 8 years of construction experience.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in building construction.
  • At least 2 years in rehabilitation/renovation projects (preferred).
  • Experience in institutional or school projects is preferred.
  • Knowledge of structural repair techniques, finishes, MEP upgrades and understanding of working in school environments.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC procedures.

Technical Competencies

  • Reporting knowledge (MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • AutoCAD (drafting).
  • Basic BOQ review and analysis skills.
