Job Summary

The Solar Site Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing solar photovoltaic (PV) installation projects at site. The role ensures that all construction, electrical, and commissioning activities are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and local regulations.

Roles And Responsibilities:

  • Supervise day-to-day solar PV installation activities at project sites.
  • Review project drawings, technical specifications, and construction plans before execution.
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor site progress and ensure work is completed according to project schedules.
  • Conduct site surveys and assess installation feasibility.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
  • Inspect civil, structural, and electrical works to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Oversee installation of solar panels, mounting structures, inverters, transformers, and associated electrical equipment.
  • Manage testing, commissioning, and system performance verification.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
  • Resolve technical issues encountered during installation.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and maintain site inventory records.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes and industry standards.
  • Support project handover by preparing as-built documentation and completion reports

Required Skills

Skills And Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in solar PV installation or electrical site execution.
  • Strong knowledge of on-grid solar PV systems, electrical wiring, installation practices, and electrical safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and technical specifications.
  • Good understanding of solar PV installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple site activities, and meet project deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites within Karachi and surrounding areas.
  • A valid driving licence will be considered an advantage.
