Job Summary

Roles and Responsibilities:

Ability to plan, organize, and seamlessly execute of all project activities and educational programs already developed and designed to study participants in Rahim Yar Khan. This will include:

  • Supervision, coordination and managing of research staff on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ensuring optimal processes, workflows, and best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Setting timelines and allocating existing human resources to ensure the research project is completed on time and within budget. 
  • Leading and motivating the study staff, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Ensuring staff activities comply with relevant ethical and project standards.
  • Securing needed infrastructure to ensure the research project is completed on time and within budget.
  • Overseeing the procurement and allocation of necessary resources, including food, transportation, honorarium, equipment, personnel to ensure the research project is completed on time and within budget.
  • Managing and tracking budgets, and ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Identifying and resolving operational issues and challenges.
  • Ensuring accuracy and compliance in all project operation.
  • Anticipating, and resolves complex, controversial, or unprecedented issues and problems.
  • Assist Canadian and AKU principal investigators with field data collection by overseeing and monitoring the data collection process, implementing needed quality assurance to ensure high-quality research data.
  • Responsible for hiring, onboarding, ongoing training, and evaluation of all staff.
  • Able and willing to take direction for Canadian principal investigator and AKU Study Director.
  • Provide regular verbal and written updates to Canadian principal investigator and study Director on the progress of the study and challenges that need addressing, and gather feedback to ensure alignment with project plan.
  • Manage relationships with community gatekeepers, study advisory group, and other external stakeholders.
  • Ensure health and safety standards for project work area.

Required Skills

Skills and Qualification:

  • Bachelors and Masters in health, business or related field.
  • Work requires experience both in the management and execution, with proven competence in managing research project staff in the field. At least 5 years of experience in managing and executing community health project.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills and ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment.
  • Proficiency in office software: MS Word, Spread sheets.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Must have: very good written and verbal communication in English and Urdu, and very good verbal communication in Punjabi. An asset if has ability to understand and speak basic Saraiki.
  • Ability to independently prioritize work, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptable to new or changing situations, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Contract Duration: 8 to 12 months
