Job Summary
The incumbent will lead the development and implementation of tertiary-based scholarship and related programmes across Pakistan in areas where the Ismaili community resides. He/she will supervise AKEB, P education programs for tertiary-level students, including scholarships, loans, career advising, Ismaili Student Network (ISN), etc.
Specific Responsibilities:
The assignments and responsibilities pertain to the following broader areas:
Program Development and Execution:
- Execute existing Aga Khan undergraduate Scholarship Program - AKUSP (Aga Khan Tertiary Scholarship Program - AKTSP) and Aga Khan International Scholarship Programme (AKISP) effectively and efficiently with all its cycles within stipulated timelines, annually.
- Lead the development of strategic direction and framework for AKEB, P’s and related programs for tertiary-level students, including scholarships, loans, career advising, ISN, etc.
- Responsible for preparing budgets, reports, proposals, and presentations to Scholarship Advisory Committee - SAC, Central Scholarship Unit - CSU, Grants and Review Board - GRB, National Council, etc.
- Support other Aga Khan Education Board for Pakistan - AKEB, P programs to improve access to secondary and tertiary education.
- Establish a baseline on the quantum, quality and accessibility of the existing requirements for scholarship and other support programs.
- Support tertiary educational programs in ascertaining the educational needs of the communities within the socio-economic context of the regions, with a strong focus of access to financial support programs.
- Develop and implement training programmes for strengthening the capacities of Regional Educational Boards - REBs, Local Education Boards - LEBs and supporting volunteers and professionals for effective programme management and delivery.
- Provide management oversight to all AKEB, P related scholarship and financial assistance programs.
- Prepare annual Work plans and budgets for the respective department / function.
- Prepare and disseminate any external communication / public information documents when necessary.
- Participate in senior management meetings and board meetings, and/or sub-committee meetings, where required.
- Develop project proposals for donor grants as and when the opportunity or need arises.
- Participate in any other tasks, meetings, and committees – as nominated by the supervisor.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Develop a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework to assess the performance and outreach of the programmes for all operations under his/her domain.
- Establish processes to ensure the collection of regular and accurate monitoring data.
- Ensure the integration of M&E and MIS for tracking outreach and performance, and
- Build the capacity of staff and volunteers in implementing M&E systems and processes locally.
Required Skills
The ideal candidate should have a Master’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience. The candidate should also possess effective communication, interpersonal, and follow-up skills, a strong command of report writing, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
