Lead and direct the Biomedical Engineering department’s human, financial, and material resources to ensure optimal service delivery and performance.
Maintain departmental performance targets, regulatory compliance, and adherence to international standards such as ISO, JCI, CAP, AAMI, and ECRI.
Develop and implement the equipment management plan, encompassing the full life cycle from equipment selection and technical evaluation to end-of-life disposition.
Oversee and guide complex medical device integration and EHR/EMR (HL7, DICOM, LIS/RIS) implementations in collaboration with IT and clinical teams.
Manage annual operating and capital budgets, ensuring effective cost control and strategic procurement of medical equipment.
Lead initiatives to enhance quality, safety, and technology utilization within the hospital.
Support hospital leadership in long-term technology planning, capital forecasting, and strategic equipment standardization.
Supervise and mentor a diverse and multidisciplinary team of biomedical engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional development.

In-depth technical expertise in biomedical engineering, clinical technology, and medical information systems.
Proven knowledge of healthcare technology management (HTM) practices and quality assurance programs.
Strong understanding of networking and systems integration for medical technology (HL7/DICOM/LIS/RIS/EHR).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities for diagnosing equipment malfunctions and ensuring operational continuity.
Demonstrated ability in budget preparation, cost optimization, and resource planning.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clinical, administrative, and vendor teams.
Ability to manage complex staff structures with strategic oversight and people management skills.
Qualification and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or related discipline (BE/BS required).
Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Healthcare Technology Management, or MBA in Hospital/Healthcare Administration preferred.
+15 years of progressive experience in managing healthcare technology operations in large tertiary or teaching hospitals.
Demonstrated experience in medical device integration projects, EHR/EMR implementation, and compliance with international accreditation standards.
