Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan is looking for competent Security Officer for Gilgit.

Job Summary: The Security Officer (SO) will provide operational level security and safety support to the Country Security Manager (CSM) across the (GB) region. The SO will deputize, at regional level, for the CSM when the CSM is undertaking country level activities.

Job Responsibilities:

Security and Safety Management:

  • Be fully conversant with all AKDN security risk management systems and processes. To include the AKDN Security Level System (SLS), security plans, contingencies, incident reporting, assessments, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist the CSM with maintaining Minimum Preparedness Standards (MPS) for all regional locations.
  • Daily operational security oversight of AKH, Gilgit when the CSM is absent from post.
  • Operational security oversight of all regional AKHSP locations when the CSM is absent from post.
  • Develop and maintain a strong contextual understanding of AKHSP operations in the GB region.
  • Conduct Premises Vulnerability assessments (PVAS) within the specified regional area.
  • Conduct Premises / Office Security Plans (PSP/OSP) as directed by the CSM.
  • Assist the CSM with the regional level annual security audit.
  • Manage the regional call tree function.
  • Manage the regional security incident reporting (SIR).
  • Provide, once qualified, the regional Health and Safety management capability.
  • Manage safety equipment reviews and serviceability checks.

Incident Management.

  • Fully conversant with all regional incident contingency plans.
  • Support the CSM in the management of incident response.

Coordination and Relationships:

  • Liaise with the relevant sub- contractors, law enforcement agencies, community leaders, and emergency services as directed by the CSM.
  • Participate in monthly security coordination cell (SCC) meetings.

Training and Briefings:

  • Assist the CSM in the delivery of safety and security training for AKHSP personnel.
  • Provide in-country security briefings to international staff and visitors in the absence of the CSM.
  • Assist the CSM in the safety and security induction and briefing of all new employees.

Private Security:

  • Assist the CSM in managing the activities and performance of contracted private security providers in accordance with AKHSP policies, established KPIs, and the service agreement.
  • Liaise with the private security company as per the CSMs direction.

Other:

  • Produce reports, attend meetings, and undertake any other duties, in line with the position.
  • Undertake and qualify for the following AKDN provided qualifications; 1) Qualified Security professional (QSP). 2) Certified Occupational Safety and Health Practitioner (COSHP).

Required Skills

Education, Experience & Competencies

Essential:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum of 3 years military and/or private security experience at a supervisory/management position.
  • Fluency in English and Urdu. Written and spoken.
  • Ability to undertake regular regional level travel.
  • Strong report writing skills (English and Urdu).
  • Strong IT ability (MS office).
  • Proven training capability.
  • Understanding of regional dynamics, political, social, economic, and security.

Desirable.

  • Accredited security related qualifications/training.
