Job Summary

The Secondary Teacher is responsible for delivering subject-specific instruction to secondary-level students while promoting academic excellence, critical thinking, and personal development. The role involves planning and implementing effective lessons, assessing student progress, maintaining classroom discipline, and supporting students in achieving their academic goals in alignment with the school's curriculum and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons for secondary-level subjects according to the approved curriculum.
  • Develop lesson plans, teaching resources, and assessments to support effective learning.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment.
  • Monitor, assess, and evaluate student progress through assignments, examinations, and classroom activities.
  • Provide additional support and guidance to students to improve academic performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, assessments, and student progress.
  • Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and independent learning among students.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies and promote positive student behavior.
  • Communicate with parents regarding student progress, academic concerns, and development.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, professional development, and school activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and teaching practices.
  • Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to improve student learning.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, safeguarding procedures, and educational standards.

Required Skills

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in the relevant subject with B.Ed. preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience, preferably at the secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of secondary curriculum requirements.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to design engaging lessons and effective assessment strategies.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and educational technology tools.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve academic success.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school leadership.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining high teaching
