Job Summary

The Secondary Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the academic and administrative operations of the secondary section of the school. The role ensures effective curriculum implementation, supports teachers in delivering quality instruction, monitors student achievement and well-being, and promotes a positive learning environment aligned with the school's vision and educational standards.

Roles And Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise the day-to-day academic and administrative activities of the secondary section.

  • Ensure effective implementation of the secondary curriculum, teaching methodologies, and assessment practices.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate teachers to enhance instructional quality and professional growth.
  • Monitor student academic performance, attendance, discipline, and overall development.
  • Coordinate examinations, assessments, timetables, report cards, and academic records.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment for students.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop instructional strategies and improve learning outcomes.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, academic concerns, and school initiatives.
  • Organize academic programs, assemblies, co-curricular activities, and school events for the secondary section.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, educational regulations, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Work closely with the Principal and other coordinators to achieve the school's academic and operational goals.
  • Prepare academic reports, schedules, and other documentation as required.
  • Address student, parent, and staff concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and academic excellence.

Required Skills

Qualifications And Skills:

  • Master's degree in Education or a related field (B.Ed./M.Ed. preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in academic coordination or educational leadership.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and team management abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of the secondary curriculum, assessment practices, and student development.
  • Ability to mentor and supervise teachers while fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and school management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Commitment to maintaining high academic standards and continuous school improvement.
