Job Summary

The Chemistry Teacher will be responsible for creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of chemical principles. The teacher will design and deliver age-appropriate chemistry lessons, incorporating hands-on experiments, inquiry-based activities, and real-world applications to support students in exploring and mastering key concepts in chemistry.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver interactive chemistry lessons that align with curriculum standards and engage students in meaningful learning.
  • Facilitate laboratory experiments and practical activities that promote inquiry, observation, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through assignments, quizzes, lab reports, and exams, providing timely feedback and adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
  • Encourage scientific reasoning, critical thinking, and a growth mindset through exploration of chemical phenomena.
  • Ensure proper lab safety procedures are followed and maintain a safe, organized, and effective learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress, achievement, and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate chemistry with other subjects and support cross-disciplinary initiatives.
  • Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and ongoing professional development to stay updated on best practices in science education.

Required Skills

Skills and Qualification:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience teaching chemistry at the secondary school level
  • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to create an engaging, hands-on, and inquiry-based learning environment, especially in the laboratory.
  • A commitment to fostering student curiosity, scientific literacy, and academic growth.
  • Familiarity with current chemistry curricula, laboratory practices, and educational technologies.
