Job Summary

A Restaurant Receptionist is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for welcoming customers, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth dining experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, a friendly attitude, and the ability to handle front desk operations efficiently.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome guests in a polite and professional manner
  • Manage table reservations and waiting lists
  • Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries
  • Guide guests to their tables and coordinate with service staff
  • Handle customer complaints calmly and professionally
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area
  • Provide information about menu, services, and offers
  • Coordinate with kitchen and wait staff to ensure smooth service
  • Process billing or assist with cashier duties if required

Required Skills

Skills  and Qualification:

  • Previous experience as a receptionist or in customer service (restaurant/hotel preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly, polite, and professional attitude
  • Good telephone handling skills
  • Basic computer knowledge (MS Office, booking systems)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Education:

  • Minimum Matric or Intermediate (Bachelor’s degree is a plus)
