Job Summary

Reporting to the Project Director, you will play a pivotal role in planning, executing, and finalizing projects within strict deadlines and budgets. The successful candidate will be a natural leader, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams, communicating project goals and progress, and ensuring alignment among all stakeholders. Specifically, you will be responsible to:

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Director in the development, review, and implementation of the project work plans, including monitoring day-to-day implementation of the work plan targets;
  • Ensure collecting, updating, and maintaining of data related to the M&E of the project;
  • Act as a focal person between the Government Education Department (central and district offices) and Professional Development Center North (PDCN) for coordinating GB Education Fellows Project-related activities;
  • Act as a liaison person between PDCN and consortium partners;
  • Coordinate with Education Fellows and Schools, Faculty, and project team for project-related activities;
  • Coordinate the development and execution of academic programmes to be organised for the capacity building of EFs;
  • Provide administrative assistance for timely arrangements of all the project activities (e.g., sending letters, doing follow-ups, arranging events at PDCN and field, etc.);
  • Supervise project team for smooth functioning of the project;
  • Work closely in coordination with Finance, General Administration, and Academic Administration (at PDCN, AKU-IED/AKU);
  • Facilitate preparing project related documents and be responsible for the periodic (monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and end of the project) reporting and progress sharing;
  • Undertake field visits to monitor project implementation;
  • Act as Secretary to the Project Management Committee (PMC) and prepare meeting agenda and minutes accordingly;

Required Skills

You should have:

  • Preferably a Master’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field;
  • At least five years of proven experience as a project manager or similar role, preferably in Gilgit-Baltistan or a similar region;
  • Sound knowledge of local labor laws and regulations;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills;
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities;
  • Proficiency in IT skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with diverse teams;
  • Willingness to work beyond normal working hours;
  • Willingness to travel in the fields (districts and schools) as required.
