Job Summary

Job Purpose:

The Program Officer will support the planning, coordination, and execution of program activities to ensure timely implementation in line with approved work plans and organizational objectives. The role focuses on operational support, field coordination, documentation, participant engagement, and monitoring activities to maintain program quality, accountability, and compliance. The position requires regular interaction with staff, volunteers, coaches, participants, vendors, and community stakeholders.

Role and  Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing program activities according to approved work plans and timelines.
  • Support development of annual program plans and activity calendars.
  • Coordinate with coaches, instructors, facilitators, and volunteers for smooth program delivery.
  • Support stakeholder consultations and participant mobilization activities.
  • Assist in organizing events, tournaments, workshops, and community engagement activities.
  • Monitor day-to-day program activities and ensure adherence to schedules.
  • Support troubleshooting of operational challenges during implementation.
  • Maintain regular communication with participants and implementing teams.
  • Ensure safeguarding compliance and professional conduct during activities.
  • Collect and compile program data including attendance, participation records, and performance indicators.
  • Maintain accurate program documentation and filing systems.
  • Assist in tracking progress against program targets and KPIs.
  • Support development of monitoring tools and reporting templates.
  • Prepare draft progress updates and activity summaries for review by the Program Manager.
  • Assist in budget tracking and monitoring of program expenditures.
  • Support procurement processes for program-related materials and services.
  • Maintain proper documentation of program-related expenses and supporting records.
  • Assist during internal and external audit processes when required.
  • Ensure activities are implemented in accordance with organizational policies and safeguarding standards.
  • Support preparation of periodic program progress reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Maintain records required for governance and compliance purposes.
  • Provide timely updates to the Program Manager on implementation status and field challenges.

Required Skills

Skills and Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Sports Management, Social Sciences, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in program coordination, project support, or implementation roles.
  • Experience in sports & youth development programs, community initiatives, or non-profit organizations preferred.
  • Basic experience in data collection, documentation, and reporting.
  • Experience working with teams, volunteers, and community stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
