Job Summary

Aga Khan Agency for Habitat Pakistan requires a Planning Engineer for its Islamabad Office. The person will play a crucial role in the successful execution of construction and infrastructure projects. His/her primary responsibility will be to develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and monitoring systems to ensure timely and efficient project delivery. The responsibilities include the following:

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines in collaboration with project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Analyze project requirements, scope, and objectives to create accurate and realistic project schedules.
  • Identify critical path activities and potential bottlenecks to optimize project timelines.
  • Coordinate with project managers to allocate resources effectively, considering manpower, equipment, and materials requirements.
  • Monitor resource utilization and propose adjustments as needed to ensure optimal project performance.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges that may impact project timelines.
  • Develop contingency plans and mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
  • Implement monitoring systems to track project progress against established schedules.
  • Generate regular reports detailing project status, highlighting achievements, delays, and potential issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, engineering, and procurement, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Conduct regular meetings to update stakeholders on project progress and address any concerns.

Required Skills

Skills and Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience of at least 05 years as a Planning Engineer in the construction and infrastructure industry.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (MS Project, Primavera, BIMs).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with construction methodologies and best practices.
