Job Summary
Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P) runs one of the largest not-for-profit private healthcare systems in the country, with a focus on the regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Sindh. Its core focus includes initiatives for hard-to-reach populations through services like outreach clinics, training of community midwives to provide low-cost health services in remote areas, screening for non-communicable diseases, and digital health solutions.
Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan is looking for competent Pharmacist for Aga Khan Hospital, Gilgit – Gilgit Region.
Role and Responsibilities
Dispensing & Prescription Review.
- Review and validate prescriptions for accuracy, safety, and appropriateness.
- Dispense medicines in accordance with medical orders and hospital policies.
- Prevent and resolve medication-related problems.
Patient Care & Clinical Services.
- Provide medication counselling to patients regarding correct usage, side effects, and interactions.
- Monitor patient responses to drug therapy and make recommendations.
- Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
Inventory & Supply Chain Management**
- Maintain adequate stock levels of medicines, vaccines, and medical surgical supplies.
- Ensure proper storage conditions for all pharmaceutical items.
- Manage control of narcotics/controlled substances as per regulations.
Pharmacovigilance & Safety.
- Monitor, document, and report adverse drug reactions (ADRs).
- Ensure compliance with hospital and national pharmacovigilance guidelines.
Education & Training.
- Provide training and guidance to pharmacy staff.
Regulatory Compliance**
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, Drug Regulatory Authority guidelines, and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of dispensing, controlled substances, and adverse events.
- Contribute to the development of hospital formularies and treatment guidelines.
Other Task.
- Conduct monthly Pharmacy Physical with Finance Team.
- Reconcile of Cash of Each shift.
- Intimate of Near Expiry Medications.
- Any other task Given by the department lead..
Required Skills
Education, Experience & Competencies
- D-Pharm with valid license.
- Should have at least one-year of experience in the relevant field
- Ability to speak and understand job related English, sufficient to carryout nursing care instructions.
- Demonstrate polite and courteous behavior at all time.
- Demonstrate positive attitude to those in authority.
- Ability to give oral instructions / information to patients and visitors in Urdu
