Job Summary

Background: Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P) runs one of the largest not-for-profit private healthcare systems in the country, with a focus on the regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Sindh. Its core focus includes initiatives for hard-to-reach populations through services like outreach clinics, training of community midwives to provide low-cost health services in remote areas, screening for non-communicable diseases, and digital health solutions.

Position Summary: Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan is looking for a competent Nutrition Officer for the Flood Recovery and Climate Resilience (RENEW) project implement at Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral.

Role and  Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement nutrition-related activities in accordance with project goals and national guidelines.
  • Conduct nutrition assessments and screenings in communities and health facilities.
  • Plan and conduct awareness and counselling sessions on healthy nutrition, IYCF practices, regular ANC and PNC visits, institutional delivery and routine immunization with a focus on dietary diversity, identify lost to follow-up, missed and defaulter children 
  • Ensure integration of nutrition activities with health, WASH, and food security components where relevant.
  • Collect, compile, maintain and report high quality nutrition data from the facility and field to supervisor and central office as necessary.
  • Ensure timely distribution of nutrition supplies and materials and monitor stock levels and report shortages or delays.
  • Perform other relevant tasks and responsibilities assigned by the project supervisor
  • Supervise and coordinate health activities such as mobile clinics, outreach campaigns, awareness sessions, and referrals.

Required Skills

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, preference will be given to Nutrition, Public Health, or related field or diploma in LHV registered with Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC)
  • Minimum 1-2 -years of experience preferably in maternal and child nutrition and management in humanitarian setting
  •  Familiarity with community-based management of acute malnutrition (CMAM) and IYCF best practices.
  •  Strong nutrition related data collection and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with pressing deadlines
  • Should be polite, respectful and courteous to the patients, community and to those who are in authority.
  • Ability to speak and understand local languages
