Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan is looking for competent Midwife for Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan – Gilgit Region.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network and Systems Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Hyper-V, Windows Server administration and Network management, She/he will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining IT infrastructure of GB region, as well as providing technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extend moral support and do counselling to patient and family members as and when required
  • Take complete over of emergency trolley and equipment present in the respective area
  • Is aware of component of safe nursing care and exercise due care in delivery of same:
    • Encourage, educate & assist mothers for breast feeding.
    • Performs  Nursing procedures according to protocol
    • Calculates dosage and administer medication according to doctor’s order under supervision of RN and maintains MAR sheet.
    • Send investigations of patients and maintain records
  • Supervises new staff for their orientation.
  • Reports to Supervisor/HN in case of any problem / complaint / incident
  • Take complete over from previous shift nurse:
    • bed to bed for client
    • confidential MR file
  • Conducts normal deliveries and assist doctor in labor room in conducting complicated deliveries.
  • Provide admission and discharge teaching to each client.
  • Maintain Nursing documentation as per protocol
  • Follow infection control protocols
  • Provides Antenatal, intra natal and post natal care
  • Provides family planning services and counselling
  • Consult Gynecologists' and senior LMO in case of emergency
  • Receives new-borns and perform resuscitation as required
  • Ensures functioning and sterilization of Labour Room and all required instruments/supplies
  • Ensures functioning of technical equipment and inform BME in case of any damage or concern
  • Assist in NNU, ER and other inpatient and OPD areas for Nursing related tasks
  • Provides Health Education about nutrition, vaccination, breast feeding, Hygiene, Environment, Healthy Habits, and any other topic related to health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Administer vaccines and keeps records according to EPI Policy.
  • Provide pre and post-operative care
  • Follow infection control protocols

Required Skills

Education, Experience & Competencies:

  • LHV/Midwifery Diploma
  • Minimum 2 year experience in relative field

  • Ability to speak and understand job related English, sufficient to carry out instructions.
  • Demonstrate polite and courteous behavior at all time
  • Demonstrate positive attitude to those in authority
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have learning attitude towards continues improvement
  • Must have respect and sense of humanity when dealing with sick/poor people
  • Must have leadership and problem solving skills

Technical Competency  

  • I/V cannulation Certification & Medication Administration (only relevant)
  • Understand Infection Control & Nursing Protocols.                   
  • Certified in BLS and NRP
