Aga Khan Ismailia Charitable Trust AKICT is looking for an experienced MEP Engineer with 4–5 years of hands-on site and coordination experience to manage Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works for building projects. The role requires strong technical expertise, coordination skills, and the ability to deliver MEP systems in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, timelines, and applicable codes.
Role and Responsibilities
Design Review & Coordination
- Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals
- Coordinate MEP works with architectural, structural, and civil teams
- Identify, report, and resolve design clashes and site constraints
- Liaise with consultants for approvals, RFIs, and technical clarifications
Site Execution & Supervision
- Supervise HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, electrical, ELV & low-current systems
- Ensure works are executed as per approved drawings, BOQs, and method statements
- Monitor daily site progress and manpower productivity
- Coordinate with MEP subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors
Quality Control & Testing
- Ensure installations meet project specifications and approved standards
- Supervise inspections, testing, and commissioning activities
- Maintain QA/QC checklists, inspection reports, and test records
Planning, Cost & Documentation
- Assist in preparation of work programs and look-ahead schedules
- Verify subcontractor measurements, IPCs, and variation claims
- Monitor material approvals, deliveries, and consumption
- Prepare and update as-built drawings and O&M documentation
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce HSE requirements at site
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
(PEC, NBC Pakistan, IBC, NFPA, ASHRAE, IEC, BS, etc.)
Required Skills
Required Qualifications
- B.E / BSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- PEC registration mandatory
- B-Tech
Experience
- 4–5 years of relevant MEP experience on building projects
- Experience in residential, commercial, mixed-use, or high-rise projects preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems
- Ability to interpret and coordinate MEP drawings
- Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit is a plus
- Good command of MS Office (Excel, Word, reporting)
- Strong coordination, leadership, and problem-solving skills
