Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Mathematics Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mathematics and a commitment to fostering student understanding and success in the subject. The Mathematics Teacher will design and deliver engaging lessons that cater to various learning styles, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to excel in mathematics. This role involves creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to explore mathematical concepts, develop problem-solving skills, and build confidence in their mathematical abilities. The Mathematics Teacher will collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum, assess student progress, and provide support to learners as they navigate the challenges of mathematics education.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality mathematics lessons in accordance with curriculum standards.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and promote active learning.
  • Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Incorporate real-world applications and interdisciplinary connections to enhance the relevance of mathematics.
  • Create a supportive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and encouraged to take risks.
  • Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, and provide timely feedback to support student growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement interdisciplinary projects and activities.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and academic concerns.
  • Stay current with developments in mathematics education and integrate technology into teaching practices.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the mathematics program.

Required Skills

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Teaching certification or licensure in Mathematics (or eligibility for certification/license).
  • Proven experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level; experience with advanced placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) programs is a plus.
  • Strong content knowledge in mathematics, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and statistics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and challenging lessons that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance instruction and assessment.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development and growth as an educator.
