Job Summary:

The position of Manager QEP is based in Karachi and will be reporting to the Senior Management. The incumbent will be responsible for managing Quality Education Programs and providing academic and operational support in the implementation of the same, in liaison with Regional Operations Managers and Program Officers along with the volunteers at regional and local levels. Manager QEP will ensure that the program is planned and implemented as per SJDA’s vision and aspiration.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Provide scholarly input in designing and planning innovative programs that are efficient, effective, and contextually relevant to the concept of Quality Education.
  • Prepare concept papers on potential initiatives and contribute to writing proposals when required. Act as a liaison between all Institutions, AKDN, and other agencies concerned with QE (AKES.P, AKU, AKHS.P, ITREB, IYS, AKUEB, and other stakeholders, etc.)
  • Lead and manage QEP-related activities contextually in community areas and ensure that they are run by the vision and mandate of the Silver Jubilee Development Agency (SJDA).
  • Prepare a strategic plan for QEP implementation with a main focus on the effective utilization of human and material resources, coordination with locals as well as AKDN agencies, and community engagement—regular review and revision of training programs, manuals, and plans periodically.
  • Provide field support mechanisms and teaching standards. Visit the regions regularly to monitor the progress of the interventions and provide technical support for further improvement of the program.
  • Identify potential human resources as QSP facilitators and develop their capacity regularly for program planning, training delivery, and program evaluation.
  • Collect and compile program-related data, lessons learned, and success stories for internal usage and dissemination where and when required.
  • Strategize and plan interventions based on the data collected.
  • Represent SJDA in forums and thematic working groups etc. with AKDN agencies, civil society organizations, and institutions.
  • Assess and evaluate the impact of QEP on students and parents/caregivers and realign the programs according to local contexts.
  • Ensure timely and regular reports to the senior management and maintain a regular channel of communication specifically on issues that present potential impacts on SJDA initiatives.
  • Carry out relevant duties assigned by Senior management/board members.
  • The incumbent has to travel to the regions as per requirement and the work plan.
  • Financial bookkeeping and funds management which include occasionally cash management if and where required
  • Identifying and recording common themes across programs, and escalating these to the senior management team where appropriate should support Quality Education.
  • Being fully conversant with national and international education conferences and programs across the AKDN which can be adapted to local context.
  • Ensure all modifications to programs and modules are documented and submitted to the relevant board member and senior management for approval in a timely manner.
  • To provide support to Head of programs/department in preparing presentations and requirements from senior management.

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Education or any other social sciences or Management Discipline.
  • At least 4 - 8 years’ experience of working with a national or international well-reputed institution in the field of Quality Schooling or Education Management.
  • Ability in program design, planning, execution, and evaluation.
  • Good command of Urdu &English languages.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a part of a team.
  • Proficient in computer applications
