Position Overview

The Manager Finance will be a key member of the management team and will be responsible for strengthening SJDA’s financial management, accounting, budgeting, treasury, reporting, compliance, and internal control functions. The position will work closely with programme teams, regional offices, senior management, auditors, board members, and other stakeholders to ensure sound financial governance and timely financial decision support.

Reporting Line and Duty Station

  • Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
  • Duty Station: Karachi, Pakistan
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Travel: Willingness to travel within Pakistan as required

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Financial Management and Controls: Maintain effective financial systems, accounting procedures, internal controls, and accurate financial records.
  • Budgeting and Reporting: Lead annual budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, variance analysis, monthly closing, and management reporting.
  • Treasury and Banking: Supervise banking operations, daily cash position, fund availability, regional remittances, and cash flow management.
  • Audit and Compliance: Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure compliance with statutory, taxation, regulatory, and annual accounts requirements.
  • Payments and Approvals: Review invoices, authorize payments within approved limits, and ensure all expenditures are in line with policies and approved budgets.
  • Regional Coordination: Coordinate with regional finance teams for timely financial data, reports, reconciliations, and operational support.
  • Team Guidance: Provide supervision, guidance, and support to finance staff at head office and regional locations.
  • Other Duties: Perform any other finance-related responsibilities assigned by management.

Required Skills

Skills And Qualifications:

  • CA, ACCA, CIMA, ACMA, or an MBA with a major in finance from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in a senior or management role within a large setup.
  • Experience in non-profit, development sector, company limited by guarantee, social sector, or multi-location financial operations will be an advantage.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting standards, budgeting, treasury management, taxation, audit coordination, statutory compliance, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Demonstrated experience with accounting software, ERP or financial systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, compliance, audit, and risk management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and report-writing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership, team supervision, and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to work collaboratively across regional offices, auditors, regulators, banks, and senior management.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive professional with strong time management skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting tight deadlines with integrity and confidentiality.
