Catalog and classify new acquisitions according to library standards.
Maintain accurate records of library inventory and usage.
Provide research assistance and reference services to students, faculty, or the public.
Ensure a quiet, welcoming, and safe environment for all patrons.
Stay current with advancements in library science and digital technologies.
Supervise library assistants, volunteers, and junior staff when applicable.
Required Skills
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred for academic or specialized libraries).
Knowledge of library cataloging systems (e.g., Dewey Decimal, Library of Congress).
Proficiency in computer applications and library software systems.
Strong organizational, research, and communication skills.
Customer service-oriented with attention to detail and accuracy.
