Job Summary

The Lady Medical Officer (LMO) is responsible for patient care at the mobile camps & outreach clinics.

  • She will be overseeing the clinic activities in the GB region.
  • She is also responsible for ensuring adherence to the implementation of program activities/targets according to project needs.
  • The Lady Medical Officer (LMO) reports to the Regional Project Manager-F4HE.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provides accurate diagnosis, treatment and management of patients in a primary health care setting. Using standard national or internationally endorsed protocols, ensure quality of clinical service provision in health sites by assessing and monitoring performance against standards and guiding and motivating staff to meet and maintain standards
  • Promote behavior change by providing health and nutrition messages in the communities, in collaboration with project team and community volunteers.
  • Ensure adequate infection prevention and control standards are maintained (by AKHSP) at all times in the facility.
  • Establish effective referral mechanism between the mobile clinic and the hospitals.
  • Identifying mobile clinic site and prepare sensitization along with project implementation
  • Supervise and monitor community health nurse
  • Develop and conduct training for the mobile clinic staff and community volunteers on clinical care, infection prevention and control, pillars of safe motherhood, infant and young child feeding practices, general child care and hygiene promotion.

Operations:

  • Maintain an updated record and compile and submit outreach clinic reports of all services given.
  • Monitor and ensure the proper usage of pharmaceutical and other health program supplies.
  •  Prepare weekly work plans along with project team and ensure timely implementation of the project activities.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Preparing reports for all mobile clinics; weekly, monthly and annually.
  • Ensure adequate flow of information for the project team with constant feedback as may be required from program team.
  • Carry out other relevant or requested duties as may be required.
