The Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P) is seeking a competent and dedicated Lady Health Promoter, based in Sargodha HPM, under the Punjab Community Health Program.

Summary of the Role

The Lady Health Promoter provides primary health care services to individuals, families, and communities, with particular emphasis on maternal and child health, through preventive, promotive, and basic curative care to improve health outcomes and facilitate access to essential health services.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provides primary health care, health education, counselling, and preventive services to individuals, families, and communities, with emphasis on maternal, newborn, child, adolescent, and reproductive health.
  • Conducts community mobilization, home visits, health promotion, screening, growth monitoring, and health awareness activities to identify health and nutritional concerns at an early stage.
  • Identifies high-risk individuals and danger signs and facilitates timely referral, follow-up, and access to appropriate health services in accordance with approved AKHS guidelines.
  • Coordinates with CHWs, FHO, volunteers, community leaders, Local Health Committees, vaccinators, and healthcare providers to address community health needs and strengthen access to services.
  • Maintains accurate family records, registers, referral documentation, and service statistics and submits required monthly and quarterly reports within specified timelines.
  • Supports AKHS P health campaigns, screening activities, outreach services, awareness sessions, training, and other community health programmes.
  • Maintains confidentiality and professional conduct and complies with AKHS P policies, Code of Conduct, safeguarding, quality, infection prevention and control, and occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Reports significant community health concerns, disease outbreaks, safeguarding concerns, emergencies, and service gaps through the appropriate reporting mechanism.

Required Skills

Skills and Qualification:

  • LHV, Midwife Diploma, or RN qualification from a recognized nursing/midwifery institution.
  • Valid registration with PNC.
  • 1 year of relevant experience is preferred; however, fresh candidates with valid PNC registration may also apply.
  • Basic knowledge of primary healthcare, maternal and child health, immunization, nutrition, screening, and referral.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, community mobilization, and health education skills.
  • Strong teamwork, problem-solving, adaptability, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
  • Polite, respectful, cooperative, and committed to providing quality healthcare services.
