Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan, is looking for a competent Laboratory Technologist based at Aga Khan Hospital, Gilgit.

Roles And Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory tests in hematology, microbiology, biochemistry, Clinical pathology, and other sections.
  • Prepare, process, and analyze patient samples according to SOPs.
  • Ensure accuracy, precision, and timeliness in reporting results.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and analyzers.
  • Implement and monitor internal quality control (IQC) procedures.
  • Participate in external quality assurance (EQA/PT) programs.
  • Document test results, deviations, and corrective actions accurately.
  • Maintain laboratory safety and infection control practices.
  • Support clinicians with interpretation of laboratory test results when required.
  • Participate in training and competency assessments of junior staff and students.
  • Sharing lab data to managers(complains, incidents etc), participate in audits, maintain inventory and do physical on weekly basis.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and assist in troubleshooting processes.

Required Skills

Qualifications And Skills:

  • BS MLT or MSc Preferred
  • Minimum 2-years experience in Hospital Setup
  • Communication skills – reporting results clearly to physicians and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Teamwork – collaborating with doctors, nurses, and fellow technologists.
  • Time management – handling multiple tests with accuracy under pressure.
  • Adaptability – working with new technologies and evolving medical protocols.
  • Professional ethics & confidentiality – safeguarding patient information.

Patient interaction – empathy and professionalism during sample collection.
