Intermediate Project Manager (Uganda Based) @ EPB

Job Summary

Role and Responsibilities:

Project Planning

• Independently develop detailed project plans including timelines, milestones, resource calendars, risk identification, and mitigation strategies.

Project Execution

• Oversee construction activities to ensure work complies with contract and quality standards; manage deviations and implement corrective actions

Reporting

• Produce detailed weekly/monthly progress reports covering schedule, quality, financial status, and risks; maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Quality Control

• Implement and monitor quality assurance processes; coordinate inspections, tests, and rectify non-conformities.

Health & Safety

• Conduct regular safety meetings; ensure compliance with HSE policies; promote safe work culture.

Contract Compliance

• Manage contract enforcement, variations, and approval processes; coordinate contract interpretation and compliance activities.

Financial Management

• Review subcontractor and supplier invoices; monitor budget performance, approve payment applications; track cost variances.

Subcontractor Management

• Manage subcontractor performance, schedules, compliance, and resolve issues related to quality or delays.

Coordination

• Organize and lead coordination meetings among civil, MEP, architectural, and other teams to resolve interface conflicts.

Scheduling & Tracking

• Use advanced software (Primavera, MS Project) to update schedules; analyze critical paths and introduce corrective actions.

Inventory & Material Management

• Oversee procurement processes; verify material quality and quantities; manage warehousing and prevent wastage.

 

Required Skills

Skills and Qualification:

• Degree in Civil Engineering + PMP Certification.
• 6 to 9 years managing multi storey building construction projects.
