Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan is looking for competent Immunization Officer for Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan – Astore Region.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement and monitor monthly fixed, outreach and mobile vaccination campaigns in coordination with district EPI team.
- Monitor vaccine stock levels, distribution, and storage in collaboration with district EPI team to ensure the seamless availability of immunization supplies
- Provide technical support and supervision in developing realistic micro plans for outreach vaccination delivery and ensuring effective cold chain management to maintain quality of immunization services
- Identify training needs, plan and conduct regular refresher trainings to vaccination staff in collaboration with district EPI and project teams.
- Analyze monthly coverage data to identify areas for improvement by calculating monthly immunization coverage, dropout rates and missed children
- Participate in monthly review meetings to suggest measures for addressing immunization gaps and issues.
- Conduct regular visits to EPI centers and outreach facilities/points to assess immunization service delivery quality and provide on the job couching to vaccinators on identified gaps and issues.
- Engage with community leaders, influencers, and stakeholders especially religious Ulma in coordination with AKRSP team to increase demand for routine immunization through community mobilization.
- Participate in community awareness campaigns and meetings with community stakeholders on immunization in coordination with AKRSP and the Government health department.
- Build and sustain strong liaison with other agencies on the ground, such as the Government Health Department, WHO, and UNICEF for immunization activities.
- Ensure proper vaccine storage, handling, and distribution in line with cold chain management principles.
- Collect, validate, and report immunization data to the program management team.
- Any other task assigned by the program team as per need.
Required Skills
Skills and Qualifications:
- Graduation Degree/Diploma in nursing and medical technician will be preferred.
- At least 6 Months of experience in public health, especially routine immunization/polio eradication program with a national or international organization.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, project management, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a team and build partnerships with different stakeholders.
- Familiarity with national immunization policies and guidelines.
- Ability and willingness to work in resource-constrained and remote communities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
