Job Summary

A Hostel Cook is responsible for preparing healthy, hygienic, and tasty meals for hostel residents. The cook ensures timely meal service, maintains kitchen cleanliness, and manages food supplies efficiently.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and tea/snacks for hostel residents
  • Cook meals according to menu plans and dietary needs
  • Ensure food is fresh, hygienic, and properly cooked
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, utensils, and cooking area
  • Store food items properly and monitor stock levels
  • Purchase groceries or coordinate with management for supplies
  • Manage meal timings and serve food on schedule
  • Follow health and safety standards in the kitchen
  • Minimize food waste and use ingredients efficiently
  • Assist in planning weekly or monthly menus

Required Skills

Skills and Qualification:

  • Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role
  • Ability to cook tasty and hygienic meals for multiple people
  • Knowledge of local, Pakistani, and basic dishes
  • Understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
  • Ability to manage kitchen supplies and food stock
  • Good time management and punctuality
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
  • Honest, hardworking, and responsible attitude
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long hours
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexible to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends if required
