Job Summary

The Head Teacher provides strategic and instructional leadership to ensure the highest standards of early learning and primary education in the assigned campus. The position is responsible for academic excellence, staff management, operational coordination, and compliance with institutional policies to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment for all children and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the academic vision, annual school improvement plan, and promote a positive, inclusive learning culture.
  • Manage recruitment, deployment, and performance appraisals of staff in coordination with HR.
  • Oversee curriculum implementation, classroom quality, and instructional resources.
  • Ensure effective assessment, progress monitoring, and data-driven improvement.
  • Facilitate continuous professional development, mentorship, and staff well-being.
  • Maintain a safe, hygienic, and child-friendly environment; enforce safeguarding standards.
  • Promote positive discipline and behavior management based on respect and accountability.
  • Build strong parent-school relationships and represent the school in community initiatives.
  • Manage school budgets, procurement, and resources efficiently.
  • Ensure leadership continuity during absences and pursue ongoing professional growth.

Liaison & Coordination

  • HR Department: For policy implementation, recruitment, performance management, and staff welfare.
  • Administration & Operations: For facility management, safety, and logistics.
  • Parents & Community: For educational collaboration and child well-being.

Required Skills

Skills and Qualification:

  • Minimum of 16 years of education in any discipline from a recognized institution.
  • A professional teaching qualification (B.Ed or M.Ed) with a preference for holding a certification in ECD.
  • At least 4–5 years of relevant experience in academic leadership.
  • Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), with demonstrated ability to integrate it effectively into teaching and learning, will be considered an asset.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
