Job Summary
The Graphic Designer/Illustrator position is full-time and offered on an independent contractor basis. The Position reports to our Senior Digital Marketing Manager. Graphic Designers often communicate by email and videoconferencing with our US-based membership and partners, so excellent communication skills in English are essential.
- Developing concepts, graphics, layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites
- Determining size and arrangement of copy and illustrative material, as well as font style and size
- Preparing rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief
- Working with a Creative/Marketing Director or collaborative team to create the film or video product
- Manage and oversee all technical aspects of video recording and editing
- Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials.
- Ability to deliver on tight deadlines and a positive/open to critique attitude, plans concept by studying information and materials.
- Prepares final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art
- Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
- Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications.
- Ability to work independently.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven graphic designing experience strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphic familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop)
- A keen eye for aesthetics and details excellent communication skills
- Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
- Degree in Design, Fine Arts or related field is a plus
