Roles and Responsibilites

The Finance Officer, reporting to the Head of Finance, will be responsible for facilitating the management of day-to-day financial operations at the head office, helping to ensure accurate, transparent, and compliant financial management in support of Focus Humanitarian Assistance Pakistan’s different programmes. The job responsibilities include the following:

  • Prepare and process payment, receipt, and journal vouchers in line with organizational policies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial transactions.
  • Conduct regular bank and cash reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist in the preparation of project and annual budgets in coordination with programme teams.
  • Monitor expenditures against approved budgets and highlight variances.
  • Ensure expenditures comply with donor agreements and funding restrictions.
  • Support the preparation of donor financial reports in compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and schedules.
  • Prepare and submit required tax deductions and withholding statements as per local regulations.
  • Liaise with banks, vendors, auditors, and relevant external stakeholders.
  • Perform any other finance-related tasks assigned by the Head of Finance.

Required Skills

Skills and Qualifications

A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably within humanitarian, development, or non-profit sectors.
  • Experience managing donor-funded projects and familiarity with donor financial compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with accounting software and financial management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of local taxation and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
