Job Summary

The Silver Jubilee Development Agency mandate is to enhance the quality of life of the community through social welfare interventions, particularly for those Ismailis who are impoverished, differently abled, and vulnerable (PDV). At SJDA, we operate with a small team of professional staff and an extensive network of volunteers, engaging in various activities such as social safety nets, creating economic opportunities for the underprivileged, facilitating access to appropriate financial services, providing family counselling, combating substance abuse, supporting children with special needs, and aiding the elderly. In all its programs, SJDA endeavours to deliver timely responses to its client group and adopt an integrated programmatic approach for children, women, families, and the elderly.

Reporting

The FO will report to the Regional AKSWB Chair. They will also maintain a dotted-line relationship with the AKSWBP Program Office.

Primary Responsibilities

The primary duty of the Field Officer (FO) is to assist the Regional/Local Board in executing day-to-day fieldwork across all areas within the Regional/Local Board's jurisdiction. The FO will collaborate with area teams and contribute to activities related to:

  1. Surveys and Transfers
  2. Emergency Response
  3. Programs and Projects

Detailed Responsibilities and Nature of Work

The FO will undertake the following responsibilities:

  1. Liaising with the Regional and Local Board Office Bearers (OBs) and Board Members
  2. Coordinating with Area Volunteers
  3. Collaborating with the AKSWBP Program Office for assistance or guidance as required
  4. Conducting surveys of beneficiaries identified by Region and Local Board OBs.
  5. Providing technical and administrative support in implementing National Board programs
  6. Assisting Board Members in collecting, compiling, and reporting necessary data as needed
  7. Supporting Distress Cases in various activities (e.g., emergencies, hospital visits, etc.) under the guidance of Regional and Local Board OBs and Distress Case portfolio volunteers
  8. Keeping OBs updated on the progress of distress cases and recording the same in e-case files
  9. Coordinating with Jamati & Non-Jamati institutions for joint projects/initiatives of SWB
  10. Undertaking any other tasks/assignments provided by Local Board OBs

Required Skills

Skills and Qualifications 

  1. A robust understanding of and adherence to the social ethics and core values of the Board, including equality, fairness, diversity, participation, creativity, humility, and respect
  2. A Graduate degree
  3. A minimum of 2 years of work experience, preferably in the social sector
  4. Proficiency in MS Office applications
  5. Strong motivational skills and experience in community activism
  6. Ability to lobby and advocate
  7. Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work in teams, and capacity to collaborate with individuals from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds
  8. Ability to multitask, organize, prioritize, and coordinate work related to multiple programs
  9. Clear and precise communication and reporting skills in English
  10. Ability to effectively collaborate with volunteer teams; prior experience volunteering with community and/or non-community organizations is preferred
