Job Summary
Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Supervisor (Off Campus) in the Female Hostel.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Assisting Manager University Residences in looking after Off-campus Female Hostel and supervising overall activities of the hostel;
- Taking care of female students residing in the female hostel and resolve their day to day issues;
- Ensuring safe stay of students in hostel, supervisor will keep all require emergency medications available in hostel and will maintain their record accordingly;
- Ensuring daily round of students room to ensure that students has kept all personal belongings under locked & key while leaving hostel;
- Supervising housekeeping staff to ensure that overall hostel premises are kept neat and clean;
- Ensuring complete information has been provided face to face while handing and taking over during shift changes;
- Ensuring students do not leave hostel premises unauthorized and uninformed, and in and out timings are recorded in the record register;
- Ensuring that hostel facilities are not misused/ damaged;
- Keeping record of daily activities/events and any incident in the hostel;
- Keeping record of all complaints made by students and follow up with the Off-campuses Coordinator for corrective measures;
- Maintaining an up to date record of all data including hostel occupancy ,student’s health visits, maintenance complain and students record while they are on leave;
- Preparing hostels for accommodating new students before the start of academic calendar;
- Conducting surprise checks of students rooms for any illegal and unauthorized activity taking place in the room or employing unauthorized electrical appliances in the rooms;
- Accompanying students if an outdoor activity is officially organized for the students.
Required Skills
Skills and Qualification:
- At least Intermediate, graduate will be preferred;
- Age 40 - 50
- 3-5 years of working experience in an administrative position, having supervisory role in the hospitality industry or hostels. An academic environment experience or health background will be considered as an advantage;
- Understanding of and ability to communicate with young people with diverse backgrounds;
- High level of tolerance and a calm disposition to be able to deal with difficult and challenging people;
- Good listening skills and ability to establish positive rapport with students;
- Good administrative and organizational skills and ability to resolve administrative problems;
- Hands on experience of workload management and ability to meet timelines under pressure;
- Good public dealing ability;
- Ability to use computer and common use software like MS Office, Internet etc;
- Ability to handle shift work and perform extra duties as and when require.
