Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Instructor to join our team and help students of varying levels improve their language skills. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the English language, strong teaching abilities, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. The English Instructor will be responsible for designing and delivering lessons, assessing student progress, and providing support to help learners achieve their language goals.

Role and  Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Planning & Delivery: Design and deliver engaging English language lessons to students of different proficiency levels (beginner to advanced).

  • Student Assessment: Conduct regular assessments to evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and instructional materials.
  • Individualized Support: Offer personalized guidance to students, tailoring lessons and activities to meet their specific needs and learning styles.
  • Communication: Maintain open and regular communication with students, parents (if applicable), and colleagues to ensure a clear understanding of progress and any challenges faced.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices in teaching and participate in training opportunities to continuously improve teaching skills.
  • Administrative Duties: Complete necessary administrative tasks such as grading, attendance tracking, and preparing reports.

Required Skills

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree in Education, TESOL, or a similar field is a plus.
  • TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification (if applicable) is highly preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of [X] years of experience teaching English, particularly to non-native speakers (ESL or EFL).
  • Experience teaching a range of proficiency levels, from beginner to advanced, is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with teaching children, teenagers, or adults, depending on the position.

Language Proficiency:

  • Native or near-native fluency in English (both written and spoken).
  • Strong understanding of English grammar, syntax, and vocabulary.

Teaching Skills:

  • Ability to design and implement effective lesson plans tailored to students’ needs.
  • Experience with both in-person and online teaching environments (if applicable).
  • Ability to assess and track student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Strong classroom management skills with a focus on maintaining an engaging and respectful learning environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in using digital teaching tools and platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom, Moodle, etc.).
  • Comfortable with using educational software and resources, such as interactive whiteboards, learning management systems (LMS), and online assessment tools.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents (if applicable), and colleagues.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with diverse student populations.

Organizational and Administrative Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills to manage lesson plans, grading, and other administrative tasks.
  • Attention to detail in tracking student progress, attendance, and grading.

  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development to stay updated with current teaching methods and trends.
