Job Summary

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Instructor in Urgent Care Services at Clifton Medical Services. CMS is part of The Aga Khan University Hospital’s Outreach Program designed to conveniently provide quality healthcare services to patients closer to where they live and work, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Our team of highly qualified, trained, and experienced doctors, nurses, technicians, and administrative staff is equipped to provide compassionate care, diagnosis, and treatment for all our patients.

CMS offers 24/7 Urgent Care Services​ for adult and paediatric patients, supervised by The Department of Emergency Medicine at the Aga Khan University. UCS provides medical care for illnesses or injuries which require prompt attention and are typically not of such seriousness as to require the services of an emergency room, but often need to be seen urgently. Patients with critical conditions are stabilized and transferred to AKUH, 24/7 Emergency and Acute Care at the Main Campus, Stadium Road, Karachi.

Specifically, you will be responsible to:

  • take a lead medical role and work at UCS as Emergency Medicine Specialist /Instructor

  • perform patient’s initial evaluation, investigation, and management to maintain consistent high clinical quality and service standards

  • provide urgent care to all patients coming to UCS

  • ensure safe transfer and referral of patients

  • perform medical procedures

  • take part in ongoing sessions for Health care professionals of UCS and or CMS, and have clinical, research and specified administrative responsibilities including floor coverage. 

  • timely completion of required documentation

Required Skills
  • an MBBS degree, valid PNC license and BLS certificate
  • completed structured postgraduate training from a reputable institution
  • possess FCPS Part I/FRCEM primary or equivalent and be eligible for FCPS-II/FRCEM OSCE or equivalent
  • ability to cope-up with work pressure while maintaining quality of care
  • effectively work independently as well with multidisciplinary teams
  • excellent interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills.
