Job Summary

The NJV School Management Board (SMB) was established under the Government of Sindh’s Public-Private Partnership framework to revive and manage the historic NJV Government Higher Secondary School, Karachi — the oldest public school in Sindh. 

Today, the NJV SMB is managing 14 schools with an enrollment of around 14,000 students across Sindh. It is responsible for strategic planning, academic oversight, student welfare, and resource mobilization to sustain and expand the schools’ impact.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized career counseling to high school students, helping them identify their strengths, interests, and potential career paths.
  • Stay updated on current industry trends, job markets, and emerging career opportunities.
  • Conduct aptitude and personality assessments to assist students in making informed career decisions.

University Placement:

  • Research and compile information on local and international universities, including admission requirements, programs offered, and scholarship opportunities.
  • Assist students in shortlisting suitable universities based on their academic and personal preferences.
  • Guide students through the university application process, ensuring all necessary documents are prepared and submitted on time.

English Language Proficiency:

  •  Evaluate and enhance students' English language skills, focusing on proficiency in writing, speaking, and comprehension.
  • Provide support for standardized English language tests (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS) preparation.

Global Standard Tests:

  • Familiarize students with global standard tests such as SAT, ACT, GRE, or any other relevant exams.
  • Develop and implement test preparation strategies to ensure students perform well in these examinations.

Networking:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with local and international educational institutions.
  • Collaborate with industry professionals and alumni to provide students with insights into various career fields.

Field Trips & Outdoor Learning:

  • Plan, organize, and supervise educational field trips, exposure visits, and outdoor learning activities.

  • Collaborate with academic departments to design field-based learning that connects classroom knowledge with real-world experiences

Other Duties

  • Undertake any other tasks or responsibilities assigned by the Department Head to support the overall mission of the school.

Required Skills

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Education, Social Sciences or a related field.
  • Proven experience in career counseling and university placement.
  • Strong understanding of global standard tests and proficiency in English language education.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to stay updated on industry trends and educational policies.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to work with diverse student populations.
