ECD Teacher Educator will be responsible for providing academic and professional support to the ECD centres and their teachers in a cluster area.
She will be responsible for providing supervisory and mentoring support to the teachers.
She will also be responsible for identifying and selecting necessary resources for enriching the classrooms.
Will also provide academic and professional support to grades 1 and 2 of primary classes. Coordination with RSDU and liaison with respective communities for the improvement of teaching and learning in the centres is also the responsibility of the ECD TEs.
Will conduct professional developmental sessions, workshops and training courses.
Create learning environment of High Scope teaching using low/no cost materials in the classrooms.
Maintaining students’ portfolios, assessment records, reading logs and observations in all pre-primary and primary grade 1 and 2 classes.
Conduct demo lessons in pre-primary classes as needed. Follow-up visits to all schools and support teachers in organising events in schools. Share training reports and success stories from schools.
Required Skills
Skills and Qualification:
The ideal candidate should have 16 years of education. A six-month diploma in ECD/ECE/Montessori from a recognized institution is preferable.
Should have a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the pre-primary level.
The individual should have effective communication, classroom management, interpersonal and leadership skills. Should be well-versed in the application of technology in education.
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, and proven experience working with parents and the community are desirable.
