Job Summary

Role and Responsibilities:

  • ECD Teacher Educator will be responsible for providing academic and professional support to the ECD centres and their teachers in a cluster area.
  • She will be responsible for providing supervisory and mentoring support to the teachers.
  • She will also be responsible for identifying and selecting necessary resources for enriching the classrooms.
  • Will also provide academic and professional support to grades 1 and 2 of primary classes. Coordination with RSDU and liaison with respective communities for the improvement of teaching and learning in the centres is also the responsibility of the ECD TEs.
  • Will conduct professional developmental sessions, workshops and training courses.
  • Create learning environment of High Scope teaching using low/no cost materials in the classrooms.
  • Maintaining students’ portfolios, assessment records, reading logs and observations in all pre-primary and primary grade 1 and 2 classes.
  • Conduct demo lessons in pre-primary classes as needed. Follow-up visits to all schools and support teachers in organising events in schools. Share training reports and success stories from schools.

Required Skills

Skills and Qualification:

  • The ideal candidate should have 16 years of education. A six-month diploma in ECD/ECE/Montessori from a recognized institution is preferable.
  • Should have a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the pre-primary level.
  • The individual should have effective communication, classroom management, interpersonal and leadership skills. Should be well-versed in the application of technology in education.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, and proven experience working with parents and the community are desirable.
