Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Development (ECD) Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans that foster the cognitive, emotional, and physical development of young children (birth to 8 years old). The ECD teacher will cultivate a positive, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment to support each child’s growth, helping them develop foundational skills that will last a lifetime.

Role and  Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities for young children.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment where all children feel respected and valued.
  • Observe and assess children’s progress, identifying their developmental needs and adjusting lesson plans accordingly.
  • Promote emotional, social, and physical development through structured play, creative activities, and interactive lessons.
  • Encourage curiosity and a love for learning by engaging children in hands-on, age-appropriate activities.
  • Provide guidance and support to children in areas such as problem-solving, language development, and motor skills.
  • Foster positive social skills by encouraging cooperation, sharing, and communication between children.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/caregivers about the child’s progress, behavior, and areas of development.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress, including assessments, individual development plans, and attendance.
  • Collaborate with other educators, staff, and parents to ensure that children receive the best possible care and educational experience.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
  • Follow all health, safety, and regulatory guidelines as set by the institution and relevant authorities.

Required Skills

Educational Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is typically required.
  • Additional certifications or diplomas in Early Childhood Education or a related discipline may be preferred.
  • Teaching certification, if applicable, may also be required depending on the region or educational institution.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working with young children, preferably in an early childhood education setting.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning for children aged 0-8 years.
  • Experience with classroom management and creating a nurturing, inclusive, and safe learning environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of child development stages, and the ability to apply this knowledge to tailor teaching strategies.
  • Ability to design and implement engaging, age-appropriate educational activities and lessons.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of early childhood educational standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to assess and track children's developmental progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.

  • Knowledge of multiple languages (if working in diverse communities).
  • Familiarity with digital learning tools and technology in early childhood education.
