Job Summary

Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan is looking for an experienced and professional Driver for Project Office in Gilgit Region.

The incumbent will support the project team for routine activities, be punctual and should have customer-oriented attitude. He must be vigilant, efficient, respectful, drive safely and in timely manner. In addition to maintaining regular cleaning services for the vehicle(s) as well as plan routes based on road conditions.

Role and Responsibilities:

  •    Ensuring the safety of all while driving and abiding by the traffic rules
  •    Maintaining the vehicle’s safety and cleanliness
  •    Assist staff with loading and unloading their luggage
  •    Drive the project vehicle for transportation of authorized personnel, ensure the day-to-day proper maintenance of the assigned vehicle
  •    Ensure cleanliness and smartness of the assigned vehicle, ensure proper recording and use of the log and dispatch books
  •    Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most expedient way
  •    Being aware of the traffic and weather conditions, to stay up-to-date on road conditions 
  •    Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road construction, as needed
  •    Schedule regular car service appointments and report any issues
  •    Deliver and collect mail, documents, and other items. Perform minor repairs when  necessary
  •    Perform office support duties as required, such as photocopying, binding etc
  •    Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time 
  •    Knowledge of driving rules & regulations, skills in minor vehicle repair and mechanics
  •    Possesses good moral character

Skills and Qualification:

Education, Experience & Competencies

  •   Ability to read and write (basic level)
  •   Minimum qualification: Matric or above certificate/diploma
  •   Proven experience as a Driver
  •   A valid driver’s license
  •   A clean driving record
  •   Good eyesight and medically fit
  •   Familiarity with GPS navigation
  •   Minimum experience of 5 years in Gilgit /local area, knowledge of area roads and geography         Ability to lift heavy packages and luggage
  •   Availability to occasionally take weekend and night shifts
  •   A polite and professional disposition
  •   Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)
  •   Fluency in Urdu & local languages
  •   Police clearance certificate is required
