Drayage Dispatcher @ INNOVATIONS LOGISTICS INC

Job Summary

The Drayage Dispatcher coordinates the movement of import and export containers between ports/rail terminals and customer facilities. This role manages driver scheduling, container operations, customer communications, and ensures timely delivery of all drayage loads.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Assign and dispatch loads to company drivers or owner-operators.
• Plan daily schedules for container pickups, deliveries, and returns.
• Track container status, customs holds, and storage deadlines.
• Manage rail/port appointments and terminal communications.
• Monitor driver progress and resolve delays or operational issues.
• Serve as primary contact for drivers and customers; provide ETAs and updates.
• Prepare and process dispatch documents: BOLs, PODs, EIRs, and delivery slips.
• Maintain accurate records for billing, invoicing, and compliance.
• Update TMS/dispatch systems with load status and trip details.

Required Skills

Skills and Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Knowledge of drayage, port/rail operations, and intermodal logistics.
• Experience in dispatching, driver scheduling, and route planning.
• Understanding of customs holds, demurrage, and terminal procedures.
• Proficiency with TMS/dispatch systems and document management.
• Strong communication skills with drivers, customers, and terminals.
• Problem-solving, multitasking, and time management abilities.
• Attention to detail and professional customer service skills.
