Job Summary

A Cook Helper assists chefs and cooks in the preparation and cooking of food while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. The role is essential in supporting smooth kitchen operations and ensuring food is prepared efficiently and hygienically.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Assist cooks and chefs with food preparation tasks.
  • Wash, peel, cut, and prepare vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients.
  • Help in basic cooking activities under the supervision of the chef.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment.
  • Store food items properly and ensure kitchen supplies are organized.
  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools when required.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
  • Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries.
  • Dispose of kitchen waste and keep work areas clean.
  • Support kitchen staff during busy meal periods.

Required Skills

Skills And Qualification

  • Minimum Middle, Matric, or equivalent education preferred.
  • Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or kitchen environment is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Hardworking, punctual, and responsible.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn kitchen operations.
