Job Summary
Role and Responsibilities:
As a consultant, you will be responsible for:
- Expertise in Diagnostics: Proficient in molecular and cytogenetic diagnostics with a strong interest in advancing pathology. Focus on developing new companion diagnostics for various conditions including hematology, stem cell transplantation, solid tumor malignancies, and prenatal postnatal diseases
- Teaching: Dedicated to educating and mentoring students and residents
- Professional Development: Participate in sectional, departmental, institutional, national, and international meetings, conferences, sessions, and workshops, subject to fund availability
- Administrative Duties: Participate in department administrative committees as assigned by the sectional head or department chairperson
- Research: Engage in innovative research activities and contribute to advancements in pathology
Required Skills
Skills and Qualification:
You should have:
- An MBBS degree with FCPS / PhD / FRC Path /American Board certified or equivalent certification in Clinical Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics/Pathology and equivalent
- At least 2 years of relevant experience to the level of consultant or equivalent
- The ability to regularly share expertise with team members to support continuous learning and improvement
- The ability to adapt to new ideas and initiatives across a wide variety of issues or situations and respond with new approaches to deal with changing demands
- The ability to build relationships with team members and with other work units and build collaborations
- The ability to communicate and do hand-off procedures without ambiguity with other members of the health care team
- The ability to provide performance feedback and support and encourage staff to develop and apply their skills
