Job Summary

Background: Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P) runs one of the largest not-for-profit private healthcare systems in the country, with a focus on the regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Sindh. Its core focus includes initiatives for hard-to-reach populations through services like outreach clinics, training of community midwives to provide low-cost health services in remote areas, screening for non-communicable diseases, and digital health solutions.

Job Summary: The Chowkidar is primarily responsible for the safety, security, and monitoring of premises, staff, and assets.

Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan, is looking for a competent Chowkidar based at BHC Nasirabad, Hunza in Gilgit Region. 

Role and  Responsibilities:

  • Guard and protect the assigned building, office, and hospital.
  • Monitor entry and exit points to ensure only authorized persons are allowed access.
  • Maintain a visitor log/register and report suspicious movements.
  • Conduct regular rounds/patrols of the premises during day and night shifts.
  • Ensure doors, gates, windows, and other access points are properly locked and secured.
  • Prevent theft, damage, or unauthorized use of property.
  • Report any security incidents, emergencies, accidents, or unusual activities to the supervisor immediately.
  • Assist in managing crowd control and visitor guidance when required.
  • Monitor parking areas and ensure proper vehicle movement within the premises.
  • Support emergency response procedures such as fire alarms, evacuation, or medical emergencies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the security post/guard room.
  • Perform any other duty assigned by the administration or supervisor related to security and safety.

Required Skills

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Primary/Middle education
  • Minimum 1-2 year experience, experience in a similar office or hospital setting preferred. 
  • Punctual, disciplined, and trustworthy.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Shows resilience, flexibility and perseverance, especially during challenging periods.
  • Culturally sensitive, inclusive and respectful of diverse populations, reflecting the global values of the AKDN.
  • A deep passion and commitment to AKDN’s purpose, values and ethical framework. Flexibility to work as required to meet AKHSP mandates.

Considering the job requirements, preference will be given to local candidates from Nasirabad.
