Karakorum Area Development Organization (KADO) is a pioneering not-for-profit organization committed to sustainable development through the integration of modern and indigenous approaches. KADO works to empower communities through innovation, entrepreneurship, digital livelihoods, women empowerment, and inclusive development initiatives.

KADO is seeking a visionary, dynamic, and experienced professional to lead the organization as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Role and  Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership to advance KADO’s mission of sustainable development and community empowerment.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with donors, government institutions, development partners, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee organizational operations, financial management, budgeting, compliance, and resource mobilization initiatives.
  • Champion entrepreneurship, digital livelihoods, women empowerment, and Disability Inclusion & Empowerment Initiatives (DIEI).
  • Lead organizational responses to challenges related to climate change, gender disparities, and socio-economic development.
  • Promote innovation within start-up ecosystems, incubation programs, and co-working spaces.
  • Ensure effective implementation and management of programs across Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral.
  • Be willing to reside in Hunza and undertake extensive travel within Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, and other parts of Pakistan as required.

Required Skills

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, Computer Science/IT, Public Administration, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum age: 35 years.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience, including 6 years in senior management positions, preferably within the non-profit, development, or public sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience in similar organizations, programs, or projects.
  • Strong understanding of the socio-economic, cultural, and environmental context of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral.
  • Proven expertise in strategic planning, financial management, organizational development, and change management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
