Job Summary

A Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality meals, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring excellent food presentation and hygiene standards. The Chef plays a key role in creating menus, supervising kitchen staff, and maintaining consistency in taste and quality.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to menu standards
  • Plan menus and develop new recipes
  • Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet standards
  • Supervise kitchen staff and assign duties
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
  • Monitor food stock and place orders when required
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of food items
  • Follow health and safety regulations at all times
  • Control kitchen costs and minimize food wastage

Required Skills

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chef or Cook (hotel/restaurant preferred)
  • Knowledge of different cuisines (continental, Chinese, BBQ, etc.)
  • Strong cooking and food presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
  • Creativity in menu planning and recipe development
  • Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long hours
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts (including weekends/holidays)
  • Positive attitude and teamwork spirit
