Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team. As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, overseeing kitchen staff, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and ensuring that every dish meets our exceptional standards. Role and Responsibilities:
Food Preparation & Cooking:
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
- Handle all food items safely, following proper food safety standards.
Menu Development & Planning:
- Assist in designing, creating, and modifying menus based on seasonal availability and customer preferences.
- Innovate and create new recipes while maintaining the kitchen's consistency.
Kitchen Management:
- Supervise kitchen staff and ensure that they follow instructions and procedures.
- Organize kitchen stations and ensure equipment and utensils are properly maintained.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and skills development.
Inventory & Cost Management:
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Help manage food costs, waste reduction, and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
Safety & Hygiene:
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper sanitation of all kitchen areas and equipment.
Required Skills
Experience:
- Proven experience as a chef or cook in a professional kitchen (typically 2+ years depending on the level).
- Experience with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
Culinary Skills:
- Strong culinary expertise in cooking, plating, and presentation.
- Knowledge of different cuisines and cooking techniques.
- Ability to prepare a wide range of dishes, including complex and specialty items
Food Safety & Hygiene:
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to implement them in the kitchen.
- Familiarity with food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
Creativity & Innovation:
- Ability to create and modify menus, offering new ideas and unique dishes to meet customer preferences.
- Open-minded and adaptable in trying new cooking methods or recipes.
Leadership & Teamwork:
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and guide kitchen staff.
- Good communication skills to interact with both kitchen team members and front-of-house staff.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
Organization & Time Management:
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy kitchen.
Ability to manage time effectively, ensuring that meals are prepared efficiently and on schedule.

- High attention to detail, ensuring dishes are consistently prepared to the highest quality.
Ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely while ensuring the correct presentation.
Physical Stamina & Endurance:
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Physical strength to lift and carry kitchen equipment, ingredients, and supplies as needed.
Education:
- Culinary degree or certification from a recognized institution is preferred, but not always required with sufficient experience.
Flexibility & Availability:
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed based on restaurant schedule.
- Ability to handle changing work schedules and adapt to busy periods in the kitchen.
